he Way We Think
The France Foundation is here to create innovative medical education that proves worth your time. That’s our commitment. And it’s our job to make it work. You vote with your mouse…we’ll know we’re doing our jobs when you come back the next time.
How We Work
From the beginning of a project, The France Foundation keeps one idea firmly in mind: We’re medical education professionals and it’s our job to create education that will improve the results medical professionals achieve. We’re always asking ourselves, "What does this mean for the clinician? What will this mean for the other members of the care team? How will this impact patient care?"
Experience at the Bedside
Experience at the Bedside
Having a Chief Medical Officer who saw patients daily has taught us that gaps in performance may be related to skill, behavior, and/or knowledge shortfalls. They might also result from breakdowns in systems, organizational culture, or communications. We know to ask the right questions to shine light on those situations. And what insights can be applied to extend more successful ways of doing things.
Our Chief Medical Officer, Ted Bruno, MD, practiced family medicine at Kaiser Permanente for more than 10 years. It’s experience like Ted’s that makes us different. Our collaborators notice the difference right away. In their shorthand, The France Foundation "Gets It". You don’t just get that. Someone has to go to medical school, then practice, then be inquisitive with a bent for organizational dynamics too. That’s Ted. That helps assure our educational designs will be relevant and lets the rest of us concentrate on implementation and making them elegant.
Medical Education that Continues
We think our education is uniquely engaging because we identify with learners as peers. We advocate for them when designing learning experiences and more significantly, we make an ongoing commitment…every learning activity designed or executed by The France Foundation will be innovative and return substantial value for the time invested. Learning is continuous. We believe education should be the same. The France Foundation designs curricula that builds upon knowledge, skills, and experience that may be continually applied to practice. This approach builds audiences for lifelong learning, benefiting clinicians and ultimately their patients.
